I think that the culture in India of men towards women should definitely change sometime in the near future if the country wants to be taken seriously.  I think that the harassment on the trains is really wrong for men to do to the women.  However, I do not feel that the Ladies special train is the correct answer to deal with these problems.  I feel this way because of the increased tensions that arise due to the unfairness that men can see in the government.  Women's cars are nicer than the men's, less crowded, exclusive.  Obviously, this combination of too much of a good thing will lead to even more tensions between men and women.  This increased tension is clearly shown by the abuse of the bathrooms by males, and also by the increased hatred of women by men.  Although it does somewhat solve the problem in the trains, I do not believe it will solve the problems overall.  I may disagree with this, but I do believe that there is no turning back.  These women should definitely take advantage of this new right they have gained.  They should not concede to these men's immoral and lewd behavior.  To give in, is to regress, and to to regress is to lose progress.  Although I do not believe that India's legislation took the correct actions, I do believe that this attempt is progress.  Little by little, the Indian government will show these chauvinists that acting like a pig is not exactly a cool thing to do.  I believe that a better way to deal with the culture in this area is to show the males of India how women are treated in other countries by using tools such as the media.  The media plays a gigantic role in the mindset of a country.  If the country of India wants to ensure that women are safe on the trains, then i believe that India has taken the correct actions.  However, looking at the bigger picture, these Ladies special trains do not aid the cultural values of India. I had never put them all together and actually considered what it would be like to live as a woman in a poor country where my life was threatened every single day.  Empowering women around the world helps with education, healthcare, and helps increase the labor force.  People are finding that they can get the most benefit from their aid dollars by helping women since they tend to spend their money on the family instead of wasting it  at the bar or something else like the men do.  Since many women are suppressed, there is lots of room for improvement in many of the poorer nations.  I think the United States should decrease their donations that end up decreasing the incentive for poorer countries to work, but should concentrate more of that money on trying to help the people in poorer nations become able to work and live in safety.  Proper hospitals, education, and capital for women's business ventures would seem like it would help the most.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
