Final Thoughts
I absolutely loved researching my topic because it is something that I did wonder about on a daily basis. Even when I had a boyfriend and wasn't looking to impress anyone, I always made sure I looked decent when I left my house. Why was this? I had no one to impress! I had a hard time even digging deep enough in myself to come to a conclusion behind my subconscious decisions. Doing research opened my eyes to what it really is: women just want to feel confident. Although some may dress for men, women, conformity, etc., they all have one thing in common in that they do so to feel good about themselves to they can spend their lives living instead of trying to cover their flaws. Some women feel more confident when they dress more provocatively and gain male attention. Some women feel more confident when they look better than other women around them. Some feel for confident when they look like everyone else and therefore will not be made fun of or looked down upon. Having confidence in oneself has a huge impact on how you are able to portray yourself to the world. This project wasn't made to make people self conscious about trying to impress other people (because I know, most of us like to think that we dress for ourselves), but to tell people that it's okay and that they're worth the same without these "tools." You're beautiful, be confident in yourself.
