Introduction: I personally believe that I am not a very creative type of person. I consider myself to be more of an analytical character, offering my own opinions on issues that I feel strongly about. I find it easier for me to advocate my thoughts rather than creating a song about them. Because of this, I was more than excited to take Women in Literature as a gender studies course where we focus on matters that are afflicting the modern world today. I hoped that this class would satisfy the curiosities that I possessed involving the questions of morals in society. I also hoped that our class would have in-depth discussions on gender in literature and the media and perhaps not only inform me about the role of sex in humanity but also what we can do to help preserve the efforts of people in the past.
Blog: Women in Literature actually opened my eyes to the whole new blogging experience. Before this class, I have actually never blogged before in my life. I thought it was actually really fun and I enjoyed expressing my thoughts, opinions, and ideas, to the public on the internet about issues involving sex and gender. I also liked decorating the page as my own personal entry vault. Perhaps my favorite blog was where we each had to create our own short definitions for a boy, girl, man, and woman and we had to post an appropriate picture for each meaning. It was interesting to observe everyone's own personal definition and analyze the similarities and differences of our terminology. The pictures that were chosen to represent each meaning were also amusing to ponder.
