Lisa Diamond has researched how couples argue by comparing the measurable changes that occur in their bodies. She measures respiration, heart rate, and body language. Diamond has found out that men and women experience their relationship differently with more of the benefits going to men. She hypothesizes that this is because women try to maintain the relationship more while men get more of the benefits. I found this article interesting and I do not think that this is always true but for the “average” couple, it is true. She says that what may be annoying to one person may be relaxing to the other. This is true because they don’t just do things to annoy you.

Is it okay to label every couple with this?
Can relationships be simplified to numerical data?
What are the causes to the different reactions in men and women?
How can this be applied to the relationships between Tita and Pedro and Tita and John Brown?
