At first, this assignment had me apprehensive, as although I enjoy drawing, I am in fact terrible at it. However, I soon realized that it was not really about the drawing; rather, it was the symbolism of it. I decided to draw Marji on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in revealing clothes, as it showed that she was in France and truly emancipated, which is what her grandmother wanted for her. I really enjoyed looking at the symbolism of others’ drawing as well; it intrigued me how we all read the same book, but had different ideas about “missing panels.”
