In both the 2005 and 2007 Global Gender Gap Report, Sweden was ranked as the number one
country in women's advancement with regards to the economic, political, and educational realms.
(UK was ranked as 11th, Canada as 18th, and USA as 31st out of the 128 countries studied).
However, despite the outward aspect of equality, some Swedes, and an article in Marie Claire
magazine characterize Sweden as pro-female. Further statistics show that Swedish girls outperform
boys in school, and in 2005, even compose more than 60 percent of college students in Sweden.
Mrs. Falk clearly described feminism as the idea of political, economic, and social equality of sexes.
Therefore, if these statistics are accurate, then I strongly concur with the author. I believe that
anti-sexism programs are prejudiced towards the women, rather than the "neutralization of gender."
