Mikayla: Being called bossy, I have never truly experienced, but I can relate to how it feels to be called names that aren't true and words that hurt. First, it is already difficult and nerve-racking enough for a girl, or woman, to stand up for what she believes in, or lead a group, without someone judging her. But, being called bossy for it, that's just wrong. I feel like no one in this world she even be called bossy because it's not a true fact. If someone is telling you what to do, they aren't being bossy, or I'm sure not intending to be, all they're doing is leading you in the right direction. So, the world shouldn't name someone based on what they are doing. Secondly, no one would ever call a man bossy. I've actually never heard someone call a man bossy, only women, which is very sexist. This just shows that even in this century, even after all of the women's rights and equality movements, men are stilled viewed higher than women, even at a professional level. Bottom line, women should not be called bossy just because of what they believe in and for raising their voice to be heard.

After reading this article, I realized how much this has to do with my own life. I don't know if it has to do with how smart I used to be compared to my intelligence now but I used to be the type of student who raised my hand with No hesitation. Nowadays, I raise my hand only for the answers I absolutely know. I feel like the thing nowadays is speak just enough to get participation points and that's it. it is rare to find that one student who is willing to take the lead in a class discussion or put their opinions out there for the class. But now that I realize how bad it is to make the word bossy seem like a negative connotation, I can learn to watch the way I think of others. For example, a girl who is very athletic shouldn't be thought of as 'manly' because that will change the way everyone thinks. As if society says that you are a man if you are strong or good at sports. Just like being bossy is a bad thing especially if you are a girl.
