This article talks about Stephanie Brown a female artist who joined with Bruce Wayne to create the first female sidekick. It explains how many readers felt that the plot was very gender biased. There has been a lot of controversy with the soryline that female superheros are given and blame Brown for it. This article aslo explains the credibility of the plot, that women want just as much as men to read something that are believable. "You can't just promise to add some weight to Supergirl's frame and expect women to care about a poorly constructed character"(Goguen.) Feminists are now trying to change the comic book era by creating story lines that, "allow girls to imagine rescuing themselves instead of waiting for a white knight to show up."
