Abstract
This article focuses on the right for women from other countries to attend the Olympics. Reauters, a chariman on the London 2012 Olympics, wants women athletes from other areas like Saudi Arabia and Qatar to play in the Olympics. The Olympics games is a world wide event that emphasizes how the world can come together, but excluding women show that the world still has gender problems. People blame the Olympics for being discriminating against women, but in fact it's the places under the Gulf Arab states. These states don't allow women and girls to take part in sports and have never sent a female to the Olympics. Some of these states also want to host the FIFA World Cup and the next Olympics, but people wonder how gender will come into play.
Sandy's Response
After reading this article, I was shocked that many states and countries don't allow females to take part in the Olympics because there are many great athletes from these places; it is said that some even took home gold medals. This shows a lot about how much power women have in these areas because men don't think women are capable of doing good in sports. I feel that if these areas were to allow women to attend the Olympics, they would be taking home lots more medals, and be more widely famous. It also just shows that their states are not equal in gender, and men are the powerful ones. I think it is strange that Qatar wants to hold the FIFA World Cup because it will only attract males, since females will not want to go somewhere where women aren't appreciated.
Kamea's Response
As a female athlete I feel offended and I feel that it is unjust to not allow females to take part in the Olympics. There is no equality in letting the men participate but not women. Participating in the Olympics can help build these small countries. I didn't realize that there were several countries that don't allow women to participate in the Olympics, one of the countries being Qatar who has decided to host the World Cup which is a huge event. It's ironic and doesn't make much sense. Women have the right to play sports just like men do. Why are men associated with sports? Why aren't women? There are many great female athletes yet females are restricted and have their rights taken away.

5. Are sports associated with men?
6. Why is it that women are still deprived of their rights when times are to have changed?
