How to Do Paper Corrections 3361869559_69380ba899.jpg

1. When you get your paper back on Showbie, open it. You should be able to see the comments listed throughout the essay.

2. Read through my comments. Below or around each of my comments, write (or vocal note) me one back. Consider it a conversation. You may use any form of notation--Showbie now has notes.

3. Find the Keables Codes and look up the proper rule. Write the title of the rule next to the code: e.g. C1=Independent Clauses. Then, write me a note telling me why you made the mistake.

4. Load this annotated document into the Showbie folder labeled "Paper Title Corrections." It will be a separate folder from the essay itself.

5. Since I left you a voice note, leave me one back--let me know what you think of the comments and how you will use the feedback for future essays.

If you wish to revise for a better grade, follow this procedure:

1. Do steps 1-2 above.

2. Make an appointment with me to conference your paper. No conference=no rewrite.

3. Come to see me with your questions/concerns clearly written somewhere on your paper for me to see. Do not bother to see me if you are unprepared.

4. After we have talked, do step 4 above, and highlight all areas that you have changed--even if they are full paragraphs. I need to see every place you revised something.

5. Turn in packet on or before the due date.

Rewrites mean rewrites--not a couple of grammar corrections and a few sentences. The changes you make must reflect significant development or it will not be considered for a new grade.

You may receive up to five percentage points for a timely, complete and well-considered revision.

On the other hand, late corrections will result in a point off of your final paper grade for every day they are late.
