The topic I have chosen is women in sports. I want to explore and study how women have evolved in water sports (particularly kitesurfing) and how they are viewed compared to men. I have chosen this topic because it is something I can relate to. Since I do many water sports, I know that it is different for women than men. Most water sports such as kitesurfing, are all male dominant sports; however women have been starting to rise in talent and in numbers. Women also offer a different aspect to these sports than men. By using my personal experiences, knowledge and research, I think this will be a great topic for me to explore because it is something I am interested in. My essential question is: How have women influenced and rose in kitesurfing and what role do they play compared to men?
To explore this question I will use more of my personal knowledge and fellow kitesurfers to interview and gather my information. There are also many magazine articles and even a newly published women kitesurfing magazine where I can obtain more information. For my product I want to do a video or music video and in it show the differences and compare between men and women, such as how they dress and their skill level. I also plan on working on my outline and product at the same time instead of finishing one before the other.
