I have nothing against women who want to lose weight for the health benefits. Although it is perfectly fine for women to want to lose weight to be healthier, I believe that it
is not okay for women to lose weight to look like a model. When women try to achieve the perfect body, she will continuously feel as if she isn’t good enough. I wouldn’t like to rant about the negative effects of the media, but it would be nice to have more awareness. People need to be aware of the fact that the ideal body does not exist, and it never will exist. The media edits photos to an unreasonable extent. With awareness, there would not be the need to constantly use images underweight models. People would realize that the If the media stopped using such thin models, and started using average sized women, the whole body image problem would not exist.

After all of this research I still feel motivated to let people know that body image shouldn’t affect a person’s well-being. Body image is something I was self-conscious about because I knew I didn’t have a model body. I would like to be able to help someone else who feels like their body isn’t good enough by applying what I've learned.
