The CW network is admittedly one of the more popular networks on television, and although I myself watch shows on it often (Gossip Girl, Nikita,) I did not really think about the connections between the shows. I am so grateful that I randomly drew the CW instead of the BBC or another network that I wanted, because it forced me to really look at how the media portrays women, and how there was a theme in the shows on the CW that I never noticed. The theme? Power. Women had sexual power, physical power, and brain power. The women who viewed this channel desired such characteristic attributes, and I realized that this is why I watch the network as well.
